About Us
With a view to fulfilling the higher education aspirations of the residents of the Tarai region within the Kumaon Division, the State Government established the Government Post Graduate College, Rudrapur, on October 10, 1974. Originally established with an Arts Faculty at the undergraduate (UG) level, the college currently offers undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs across the faculties of Arts, Science, and Commerce. In alignment with the evolving needs of the contemporary world and the requirements of the youth, various vocational courses are also being conducted.
The college boasts a sprawling campus spanning approximately 28 acres, which houses the main administrative and Arts Faculty building, the Science Faculty building, the B.Ed. Faculty building, a multi-purpose auditorium, a reading room, a library, and facilities for the Commerce Faculty. Hostel accommodation for 30 students is available within the campus, and residential quarters for teaching and non-teaching staff have also been constructed.
